Inauguration of the "Sustainable Cities - life in a healthy environment" Program Report
Inauguration of the Report, "Sustainable Cities - life in a healthy environment" was held on October 10 at the VI European Congress of Small and Medium Enterprises in Katowice, as part of the panel - "Cleaner air in the region - policies and technologies".
The event was attended by representatives of government and public administration, politicians, scientists, and representatives of urban movements and business.
The report was dedicated to the air quality in Poland and the necessary changes in the context of the, so-called, sustainable cities. The document is the result of analyzes carried out this year in the largest agglomeration centres in Poland as part of the "Sustainable Cities - life in a healthy environment".
Pages of the report were used by eminent experts, representatives of public administration, international organizations and the private sector. The group of experts invited included, among the others: Assoc. prof. Marcin Ślęzak, PhD, Eng. the Motor Transport Institute’s Director, the author of the "Concept of the use of alternative fuels in road transport in Poland, including urban bus transport".
The report will form the basis for dialogue between these communities in order to develop optimal solutions for improving air quality in Poland. The aim of the report is the promotion of innovative solutions and modern technologies and increasing public awareness regarding environmental protection.
