"Carbon dioxide emissions from heavy-duty vehicles"
On 27 January at the headquarters of the Motor Transport Institute there was an international seminar on the problem of carbon dioxide emissions from heavy-duty vehicles and the issues related to type-approval, including an assessment of the weights and dimensions of vehicles in the context of the new EU requirements.
The organizers of the meeting were: ACEA (Association des Constructeurs d'Automobiles Europeens), MAN Truck & Bus AG and the Motor Transport Institute.
The meeting was attended by, among the others:

- Dr. Kirsten Broecheler (MAN Truck & Bus AG, GKA, Public Affairs)
- Christian Ketzer (MAN Truck & Bus AG, EVFT - External Affairs Technical Regulations)
- Roman Kalużyński (MAN Truck & Bus AG, Director. Sales Bus)
Among the experts there were also representatives of ITS and Łukasz Twardowski, director of the Department of the Road Transport; Ministry of Infrastructure and Construction and Maciej Bożyk of Transportation Technical Supervision.
The seminar analyzed in detail provisions concerning:
- Carbon dioxide emissions from heavy-duty vehicles:
- The status (current state) and goals
- VECTO tool.
- Integrated plans:
- The ACEA suggestions for an integrated approach,
- Alternative fuels / alternative fuels infrastructure development.
- The amendments to Directive 96/53 / EC - the weight and dimensions of heavy-duty vehicles:
- Changes in laws,
- The impact on the efficiency and safety.
