On February 23, 2017, Asst. Prof. Marcin Ślęzak, PhD, Eng. Prof of MTI, Director of the Motor Transport Institute was awarded "the Medal of Merit for the Police, by a decision Mr Mariusz Blaszczak, the Minister of Internal Affairs and Administration,."

The medal was presented by the Police Chief Commander Superintendent Jarosław Szymczyk, PhD.

Medal is awarded to a person who, among the others, initiated or organized actions aimed at preventing crimes and offenses being committed as well as crime inciting phenomena, and also cooperated in this regard with the state agencies, local governments and social organizations or by his behavior, impeccable work and service conduct raised the efficiency of the Police actions.

Motor Transport Institute has for years been cooperating with the police campaigning, among the others, for the road safety, conducting research, creating activities of prevention and education, and co-creating social campaigns. Moreover, MTI and police cooperate to prepare analyzes of the state of the road safety in the context of the MTI Polish Road Safety Observatory’s database.
