European Road Safety Summer School

In June this year road safety specialists will take part in the next edition of the workshops as part of the European Road Safety Summer School. Outstanding speakers and interesting examples from European countries are the key ingredients of this international 5-day online course, which aims to present an integrated approach to road safety.

The Road Safety Summer School is an initiative of the Flemish Traffic Knowledge Foundation (VSV - Vlaamse Stichting Verkeerskunde), together with partners from the Government of Flanders, the European Transport Safety Council (ETSC), the Union of Cities and Regions for Innovation in Transport (POLIS Cities and Regions for Transport Innovation), the Motor Transport Institute (ITS), the Hasselt University Transport Research Institute (IMOB UHasselt), the Global Road Safety Partnership (GRSP) and Road Safety UK (Road Safety GB).

Classes will take place from 26-30 to 26-30 June in the online formula. Participation in the course is free.

Topics covered during the summer school will include:

  • Day 1: Introduction, vision and strategy
  • Day 2: Education and awareness raising
  • Day 3: Infrastructure, data and vehicle technology
  • Day 4: Performance Indicators and Law Enforcement
